Aspiring Emirates pilots now have an additional location for their simulator assessments, as Emirates has officially expanded its pilot assessment centers to London Gatwick. This move adds to the airline’s existing simulator assessment hubs, providing greater accessibility for pilots looking to join one of the world’s most prestigious carriers.

Candidates applying for Airbus positions will now have the opportunity to complete their simulator assessments in Gatwick, while Boeing pilots will continue to undergo assessments in Amsterdam. Those who successfully complete the assessment phase will be invited to Dubai for further evaluations, including logbook reviews, medical checks, and a tour of company-provided accommodation.

Current Emirates Pilot Opportunities

1. Direct Entry Captains (A380 & A350)

Requirements:

  • 7,000+ hours total multi-crew, multi-engine flying time
  • 3,000+ hours PIC on Airbus FBW wide-body aircraft (A350 or A380)
  • 150+ hours in the past 12 months
  • Valid ICAO ATPL with unrestricted Class 1 medical
  • English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher

Salary & Benefits:

  • Basic salary: AED 40,100 (~USD 10,926)
  • Monthly pay with flying hours: AED 47,367 (~USD 12,907)
  • Block hour bonus: AED 760 (~USD 207) per hour beyond target
  • Accommodation, education allowance, annual leave, provident fund

2. Accelerated Command (Airbus & Boeing)

This program is designed for experienced First Officers who meet Emirates’ requirements for fast-tracked captaincy.

Requirements:

  • 5,000+ hours total multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet experience (>50T MTOW)
  • 2,000+ hours command time on fixed-wing jets
  • 1,000+ hours PIC on Airbus FBW or Boeing
  • 150+ hours in the past 12 months
  • Valid ICAO ATPL with unrestricted Class 1 medical

Salary & Benefits:

  • Basic salary: AED 31,640 (~USD 8,621)
  • Monthly pay with flying hours: AED 36,995 (~USD 10,080)
  • Block hour bonus: AED 536 (~USD 146) per hour beyond target

3. First Officers (Airbus & Boeing)

Requirements:

  • 2,000+ hours total flying time
  • 1,000+ hours on Airbus FBW or modern Boeing aircraft
  • Valid ICAO ATPL with unrestricted Class 1 medical
  • ELP Level 4 or higher

Enhanced Package (4,000+ hours experience):

  • AED 28,950 (~USD 7,888) basic salary
  • AED 34,305 (~USD 9,347) with flying pay

Standard Package:

  • AED 26,485 (~USD 7,216) basic salary
  • AED 31,840 (~USD 8,676) with flying pay
  • Block hour bonus: AED 536 (~USD 146) per hour beyond target

4. Non-Type Rated First Officers (B777)

Requirements:

  • 2,000+ hours total flying time (on turboprop or jet aircraft >20T MTOW)
  • 150+ hours in the past 12 months
  • Valid ICAO ATPL with unrestricted Class 1 medical
  • ELP Level 4 or higher
